It's called moonwalking. I don't think MJ invented it, he just made it awesome? I don't know. you should ask wally, the dance expert. Maybe he'll demonstrate.
yeah! uncle j'onn sent back video tons of times, and i have a LOT of siblings, so they kind of got spread around pretty fast. i mean we all liked different things, but there was music videos and stuff out there i would assume.
[It's so weird, knowing she knows stuff about her friends that they don't know she knows. Knowing that they don't know stuff about her that she's already told them. It doesn't feel fair, somehow.]
hey, m'gann. If there was ever anything you wanted to tell me but maybe you think I'll freak out or something...
[Subtle, Crock.]
ugh, sorry. forget it, this is stupid. you should check out the video to Smooth Criminal. It's my favorite.
[ Hey no, this is progress. There's still the enormous mountain of drama that she'd apparently just missed upon arrival, and has yet to press anyone for answers about it. She'd agreed with Robin that it was Art's story to tell, should she want to.
Although hearing this (or reading), it brings a surge of nerves to the front that she'd almost forgotten about. Again. ]
i will.
... you're from the future, right? i mean, just not november, like me.
[Major tactical error, Artemis. This is why they don't let you make the plans. Or the cover stories.]
not exactly a party, but we're all together. and, uh... look, it's not important. just thought it would be nice to know, you know? something to look forward to.
it is totally important! new years kiss!! it doesn't have to be someone you like but its totally a huge tradition!! you tell me right now artemis or i will hunt you down and make you tell me
yeah, I know. anyway, it's not like it was important, or anything. I mean, it's like you said, it's just a new years tradition. it totally could have been anyone, wally was just closest.
[Not true. But while she's ready to admit that to herself, she's not ready to admit it to anyone else. And that includes Wally.]]
i mean everyone was doing it, even rocket and aqual
[Abrupt stop.]
here wally doesn't even know about it, so whatever. so not important.
aqualad and rocket? who's rocket?? a new teammate? another girl? oh my gosh more girls finally :)
well wally doesnt know a lot of things. isnt he the furthest behind all of us? :( but its only important if you want it to be. i wont tell him or anyone else though, i promise.
thats not reaaally fair to say. he knows a lot of things. he explained in great detail the reason why skin colour is different for humans just because i showed interest in it. give him a litttttle bit of credit. i know you can :P
and sure i guess. maybe not as pressing here though. i mean besides finding a way home and stuff. dunno what were all doing about that yet.
[She actually doesn't have any problem admitting that but she is very curious about what Wally had to say regarding human skin color. Especially knowing what she knows about M'gann.
Still, she can't think of a way to ask that won't make things weird.]
I went home once. I was here for a couple of months, went home for a bit, then ended up back here again. Same thing happened to Robin. I don't know... just getting home isn't really the problem. the problem is trying to remember being here when you're home.
[ She'll figure it out one day. Or maybe just blurt it out; that sometimes works. ]
oh... you remembered when you came back though? but forget when you go home? thats weird... maybe the memories get locked away?
i mean ... if i knew i had forgotten something i could go into my memories and try and find them but i dont know if id remember that i forgot anything.
hey, no, wait. that's a good idea. What if there was something we could do, like what we did in Bialya but in reverse? Like embedded suggestions to remember.
[Okay, that sounds creepily like what Cadmus did to Superboy. And Roy.]
noooo no that's a good idea! only thing is id need express permission from anyone i did it to. i mean i can do it to myself but it might not work as well.

[Oh the smugness, it burns.]
text.

take pictures. no, better yet, video. I'm going to want popcorn for this.
so... martians are into earth pop culture?
[She missed that mission.]
text.

Re: text.
you are a good friend.
that's... pretty cool, actually. I never thought about martians watching our stuff. is that why you wanted to come to earth?
text.
why i did specifically? um... kinda. i mean earth is really cool and beautiful. i guess i was really antsy for a change.
text.
Yeah... I get that.

I mean, we've got kids from 2016 on the team now, I guess, but... yeah. Just a few months, though. January.
text.
text.
yeah, it was New Years, 2011
[She pauses, considering, then decides nothing too terrible can come of one little revelation.]
you and superboy kissed at midnight. it was pretty cute.
[At least, Artemis thinks it was probably cute. She'd been a little distracted at the time.]
text.
sdfjkhs oh? well. that's good! kind of romantic actually. who did you kiss?
[ Because that's totally what you do on New Years, she knows that much. ]
text.

it was wally, ok?
and I swear to god M'gann, if you tell ANYONE I will hunt YOU down. I am so serious right now!
text.
i thought sooooooo.

text.

Rocket's awesome. she just started, but I hope she sticks around. you'll like her.
Wally doesn't know a lot of things, period, whenever he's from. I don't know. It's stupid. There's way more important things to worry about, right?
text.
and sure i guess. maybe not as pressing here though. i mean besides finding a way home and stuff. dunno what were all doing about that yet.

text.
I'd give you permission.
[In Bialya the last thing in the world Artemis wanted was a psychic in her mind, digging up the secrets that she'd worked so hard to hide.
But if it could save her life...]
